Life and Times of a First Year Smithie

So like I’m in study of women and gender and just chillin… not really paying attention… but it’s ok. So boreddddddd. Spring cocktail is tonight though! super excited! Theme:

Anyways… super excited about that. Also excited about the rest of the universe. 

-I will have a job this summer in DC! 

-I may have a job next school year at Pride and Joy in Noho! 

-I am a HONS for next year 

-I live in Morrow House [always the best thing in my life] 

Anyways…. SWAG is almost over… shout out to 2016 Smithies! I can’t wait to meet you all!

While I HATE the thought of being replaced by new first years; CONGRATS TO ALL OF THE FUTURE SMITHIES WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED! You all deserve it, after all Smith doesn’t make mistakes, and you will LOVE Smith. Can’t wait to meet you all! :)

Our new first-years are all moved in and proved themselves to be super Morrowites at Quad Cheer. We screamed Best of the Quad until we could no more and then we ran home to dance to the jukebox and cheered some more.

If this evening is telling us anything, it’s going to be a hell of a year!

Ok so I know I never reallllly update this blog, BUT last night was a special night. Last night Morrow House had their elections for the 2012-2013 house government cabinet. We all went down to the living room to vote on some Constitution changes, class reps, other positions. But when the prospective HONS got up to give their speeches… one senior cried, then another, then another and then basically all of them. [Jk not every single one… but a lot]. Anyways, whoever wins these elections will be amazing HONS and would you like to know why? Well I will tell you why… because Morrow House Class of 2015 is a great group of humans. We are just the sweetest and the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The next 30 first years who get to call themselves Morrowites will be lucky to have any of the 8 contenders for HONS because we all will genuinely care about them, because that is what Morrow House has taught us to do: to care about your fellow Morrowites like they are your family. I am not particularly close to my family, and I’ve always been just a little bit jealous of people who are, but when I think of Morrow House I don’t think of just the place I sleep and eat. I think of home, my family, and the most amazing people I have ever met and will ever meet. No matter who is on the house government cabinet next year we will continue to be amazing, glowing, wonderful, as close to perfect as possible, proud Morrowites. I love you all and I cannot wait to spend another 1-3 years with you all!
